What is HPM75 made of
HPM75 is a non-magnetic, high hardness, free cutting plastic die steel produced by special smelting process. It is a non-magnetic, high strength Austenitic non-magnetic die steel in HPM series. Austenite is stable in various states and has very low permeability. HPM75 non-magnetic steel has high hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and non-magnetic properties comparable to stainless steel SUS304 and many other die characteristics; Therefore, it is suitable for mold products with high requirements on corrosion and wear resistance. Adopting gas nitrocarburizing heat treatment can further improve the surface hardness and wear resistance, and thus prolong the service life of the die. HPM75 non-magnetic steel is prone to work hardening, so low speed machining is recommended.

Properties and characteristics of HPM75 non magnetic steel
HPM75 is a high strength Austenitic shape non-magnetic die steel, which can maintain stable austenite in various states. 1. HPM75 non-magnetic steel ingot: heating temperature 1150-1170℃, heating time ≥8h, start temperature 1100-1120℃, end temperature ≥950℃, air cooling;
2. HPM75 non-magnetic steel billet: heating temperature 1140-1160℃, heating time ≥8h, start temperature 1080-1100℃, end temperature ≥950℃, air cooling;

High temperature annealing process of HPM75 non magnetic steel
HPM75 non-magnetic steel annealing temperature 870-890℃, holding 3-6h, furnace cooling below 500℃ out of air cooling. The hardness of HPM75 after annealing is 28-30HRC, and the microstructure is fine grain austenite + uniformly distributed granular carbide. High temperature annealing can improve the machinability of HPM75 steel.
Solution treatment process of HPM75 non magnetic steel
HPM75 non-magnetic steel solution temperature 1150-1180℃, salt bath furnace insulation 15-20min/mm, box furnace insulation 30min/mm, water cooling, HPM75 solution hardness 20-22HRC, metallographic structure: austenite + undissolved primary carbide.
Aging process of HPM75 non magnetic steel
HPM75 non-magnetic steel aging temperature 650-700℃, aging 15-20h, air cooling, HPM75 after aging treatment hardness ≥45HRC.
Gas nitrocarburizing process of HPM75 magnetic steel
HPM75 non-magnetic steel co-permeability temperature 560-570℃, co-permeability time 4-6h, surface hardness 950-1100hV, nitriding layer depth 0.03-0.04mm.
